Our Work
Our Theory of Change
The TDT’s purpose is to foster sustainable community-led, community-owned, and community managed integrated development initiatives in Turkana. The Trust will facilitate the development of a unified voice and legitimacy of the citizens in development endeavors at all levels. The Trust will seek to empower communities to have voice and build capacities for resilience to lead development aligned with their aspirations.
The TOC for TDT as an LDO is: IF local organizations in Turkana can be structured and organized to have agency and voice; IF local organizations have technical and institutional capacity to design and implement locally driven, sustainable programs; and IF there is an enabling environment in the county for local organizations to thrive; THEN these organizations will empower communities in Turkana County to influence development priorities, demand better national and county government performance and improved services delivered; AND fundamentally improve the social, economic, and governance outcomes in the county.

Strategic Objectives:
• Empowered communities demand better county service delivery and allocation of resources
• Enhanced advocacy to reduced illiteracy in the county
• Increased demand for sustainable inter-communal harmony and peace
• Improved governance, leadership, and adherence to rule of law
